NU switches to online classes after bomb threat

The National University Mall of Asia (NU-MOA) campus in Pasay City was declared clear of explosives on Thursday after it received a bomb threat.

Pasay police officers and Bureau of Fire Protection personnel conducted clearing operations early in the morning after the university’s safety office was informed of the threat posted on NU-MOA’s Facebook page on Wednesday night.

As a result, the university announced a shift to remote learning modes instead of on-site classes in the morning while face-to-face classes and examinations resumed in the afternoon.

“We are pleased to inform everyone that following a thorough security inspection, the campus has been cleared of explosives and any hazardous materials,” NU-MOA said in a Facebook post.

“We thank our law enforcement and emergency response teams for their prompt action and continued commitment to ensuring the safety of our campus community,” it added.
