Overstaying Chinese nabbed over investment scam

Dianne Sampang

A Chinese man was arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for operating a home-based cryptocurrency investment scam.

In a statement on Wednesday, the BI said that Liu Feng, 41 years old, was caught on Nov. 3 in a condominium in Parañaque City “operating a workstation that was suspected to be facilitating a cryptocurrency scam.”

“Intelligence reports received by the BI state that another Chinese national, who was the initial subject of the investigation, was running the online fraud operation together with other cohorts,” it added.
