Palace: Marcos still getting over diverticulitis

President Marcos is making a steady recovery from diverticulitis although he may still be absent from the public eye from time to time.

“The President has recently returned from medical care and is recovering from diverticulitis. His medical team notes his steady progress,” Presidential Communications Office acting Secretary Dave Gomez said in a Viber message to reporters on Wednesday.

“The President will continue to focus on critical duties but the Executive Secretary and other Cabinet members who are his alter ego may represent him at some engagements,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Marcos was represented by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto in the “Pagpupugay 2025: Parangal sa mga Lingkod Bayani” ceremony.
