A performance audit, not a revamp, is the priority of newly appointed Presidential Communications Office (PCO) acting Secretary Dave Gomez.
“I need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness, unbiased performance audit in the office. I want to be fair to everyone,” Gomez told Palace reporters on Monday.
“But it’s really very urgent, so I started this morning, and have several more meetings this afternoon and tomorrow. All the heads, I want to sit down with them one-on-one, have a deep dive with them and review. Conduct an honest-to-goodness performance audit,” he said.
Gomez, a seasoned journalist who eventually became a corporate communications executive, took his oath before President Marcos at Malacañang earlier.
The fifth PCO secretary to be appointed since Mr. Marcos took office in 2022, Gomez said that among the things he would “revisit and study” is the communication strategy for improving the President’s trust rating.
