Ang is the author of the well-received book “Barangay to Broadway: Filipino American Theater History,” described as following “the events, groups and individuals that have comprised Filipino American theater from 1898 to 2016.”

Born on Sept. 6, 1977, in Manila, Ang passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2025 in Pennsylvania in the United States after battling glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain tumor, according to a statement released by his husband Constantine Dy.
