The Philippines was the second-most vulnerable country to digital fraud in 2024—with Filipino victims each losing an average of P44,700 from scams launched via text and email, according to a study by insights company TransUnion.
In its “H1 2025 Update to the State of Omnichannel Fraud Report,” TransUnion said that suspected digital fraud rate in the Philippines was 13.4 percent in 2024 compared to the global average of 5.4 percent.
India registered 19 percent, making it the country that dealt with most cyberattacks last year, with the Dominican Republic in third place with 10.9 percent.
