The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Danish embassy in Manila have agreed to elevate the education and training of Filipino nurses who wish to work in Denmark.
Migrant Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac signed on Monday a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) with Danish Ambassador Franz Michael Skjold Meldin in Makati City.
The JDI will serve as the groundwork for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be signed within the next 12 months, the DMW said in a statement.
“The JDI will ensure adequate welfare and social protection for Filipino health-care workers in Denmark. Both countries have agreed to provide resources, legal remedies and social benefits to promote workers’ well-being and safeguard their rights during their employment,” it added.
