PH grants 14-day visa-free privilege to Chinese visitors
Effective Jan. 16, Chinese visitors to the Philippines can stay for up to 14 days without a visa, a move that seeks to boost tourism and investment between the two countries, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The visa-free privilege, however, will apply only to Chinese nationals who travel to the country either for business or tourism and through the following points of entry: Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, or Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Mactan Island.
Their passport must also be valid for the next six months and they will not be allowed to extend their visit beyond 14 days.
The new policy, which will be in effect for just one year, “is in line with the President’s directive to facilitate trade, investments and tourism, as well as strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and China.”
