PhilHealth warns vs fake accreditation assistance
The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has warned healthcare providers and the public against online posts and advertisements offering assistance to secure or expedite accreditation with the state insurer.
PhilHealth said it had not authorized any third party to facilitate or speed up the accreditation process on its behalf.
“PhilHealth has not authorized, accredited, endorsed or engaged any firm, agency, organization or individual to facilitate, process or speed up accreditation on its behalf,” it said.
The state insurer warned that it would not be liable for any loss, damage or adverse consequences arising from transactions with unauthorized third parties or their representatives.
Coursed directly
It reminded healthcare providers that all accreditation applications, renewals, submissions of documentary requirements, inquiries and related transactions must be coursed directly through PhilHealth regional offices and their respective local health insurance offices nationwide.
PhilHealth also identified only three third-party accreditors authorized to validate and recommend health facilities for its Center of Excellence Awards.
The accredited establishments are the Philippine Tripartite Accreditation for Health Facilities, Inc., the Philippine Council on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and TÜV Rheinland.
