“Mining plays a significant role in our region’s economy, but it should never come at the expense of our environment or the well-being of our communities.”, said Raphael L. Remo, former Chief of the Peace , Public Order and Safety Division of Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), now Director II of BARMM – Mines and Geosciences Services under Ministry of Environment Natural Resources and Energy.

At the Community Relations Conference on 19 Nov. co-organized by PMSEA and MGB, Remo discussed their region’s mining status, including  legalities and development, which, as he highlighted, was a collaborative effort between the government, private sector, and the most crucial, the community.

While the region continues to navigate unique challenges and opportunities in resource management, the Ministry remains firmly committed to developing a mining sector that advances economic growth while upholding social responsibility.

From mining to gaming: The PMSEA/ANMSEC’s bold leap into the field of sports

From unearthing precious metals and minerals to destroying Turret — that’s how PMSEA/ANMSEC grooves, conquering the world of esports for the second year.

In Minero Cup 2, PMSEA featured the game “Honor of Kings,” and opened the competition not only to the mining and allied sectors but also to the city’s gaming communities. This move is a strong reminder that the mining sector and their host communities should embrace innovation together, and advance collaboration.

Other sports in the 71st ANMSEC were bowling, golf, and pickleball.
