The Philippine National Police on Thursday said it has deployed around 40,000 personnel nationwide to ensure peace and order for Holy Week and summer.
The deployment, which started on April 1, will run until May 31.
The PNP said it has increased police visibility, intensified patrol operations and enhanced coordination with other government agencies and local governments.
It added that it was also “mindful of the possibility that threat groups and criminals may try to disrupt peace and order” during the campaign period and on Election Day.
