Pope appoints Luistro to Vatican’s Roman Curia

Former Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro, FSC, has been appointed by Pope Leo XIV as a member of the Roman Curia.
In a bulletin from the Vatican press office on Wednesday (Manila time), the Pope named Luistro as one of the members of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
The dicastery is a department under the Roman Curia which oversees religious orders, congregations, and societies of apostolic life, including matters of governance, discipline, rights and privileges.
The 63-year-old Luistro is the superior general of the De La Salle Brothers congregation.
He served as education secretary from 2010 to 2016 under then President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
On May 15, the Pope met Luistro and other members of the La Salle Brothers at the Vatican to mark the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of St. John Baptist de La Salle as the patron of Christian teachers.
