PPP art, photo exhibit opens
The Press Photographers of the Philippines (PPP) will hold an art and photo exhibit starting today up to Oct. 28 at the Makati Commerce Tower at the corner of Gil Puyat and Chino Roces avenues in Makati City.
The exhibit partly serves as a fundraiser for PPP members in need of medical assistance. Thirty percent of the proceeds will go to its aid fund, according to the group’s president Edwin Bacasmas, a multiawarded photojournalist and retired Inquirer staff member.
Among the participating artists are Lourd De Veyra, Jun Sabayton, Ludwig Ilio, Benjie Lontoc, Brian Afuang, Jimbo Albano, Vic Sison, Linggong Ortiz, Jhun Dantes, Alexander T. Magno, John Eiron Francisco, and Benjo Laygo (+). Amangpintor (Elito Circa), watercolor master Rafael Cusi, and mud artist Percy Delono will also join and do live art performances.
Other artists whose works will be on display are Rico Aunzo, Daniel Dumaguit, Clarisse Agilera, Joe Hilario Arnold Dacles Estrella, and Riza Zuniga. The PPP members involved in the event include Albert Garcia, Joe Galvez, Gino Espano, Jhun Dantes, Claro Cortez, Luis Liwanag, Pinggot Zulueta, Dave Leprozo, Nico Sepe, Boy Cabrido, Gil Nartea, Bruce Lee Strong, Rhoy Cobilla, Roy Domingo, Nonie Reyes, George Buid, Jun Mendoza, Bruce Lee Strong, and renowed travel photographer George Tapan.
The exhibit is being mounted with the support of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.
Open to the public, it also offers talks, demos and workshops designed for students, hobbyists and young professionals.
