SONA pledges entail much work, says Marcos
President Marcos has acknowledged that much work remains to be done to turn his promises in his recent State of the Nation Address (Sona) into a reality.
In his latest vlog released on Saturday, Mr. Marcos said he left out many issues in his penultimate annual state address, which he said should serve as an impetus for the government to carry out programs for the Filipinos.
“I know that the Sona is more than a speech. There is still much work that needs to be done to bring to life everything we discussed and aspire for as a nation,” he said.
The President acknowledged the urgency of following through on the host of programs that he drew up in his Sona to alleviate poverty, sustain and expand health services and lower the cost of medicines, among others.
He said the government would continue to listen to citizens and determine what more could be done to address their concerns.
“To everyone who has written to me, whether you are young or old, rest assured that I will read all of them,” he said. “We will make sure that if there is anything more we can do to address the problems you have raised, your government will do so.”
Mr. Marcos also vowed to tackle issues excluded from his address in his final Sona in July next year.
