SSS goes after 16 employers in Malolos over P10.8-M unpaid contributions

CITY OF MALOLOS—The Social Security System (SSS) went after sixteen delinquent employers in this city to collect P10.8 million in contributions for at least 204 of their employees.
Gloria Corazon Andrada, SSS Vice President for Central Luzon 2 Division, and lawyer Faith Genriet Arao, of the agency’s Operations Legal Extension Office, personally served written orders to the owners and employers of a school, a manufacturing company, two grocery and “pasalubong” (gift) stores, six restaurants, one manpower agency, five service companies, and a carwash shop.
The Friday operation here was part of the agency’s Run Against Contribution Evaders (Race) program launched in 65 SSS branches in Luzon, 10 of which are under Central Luzon 2.
Andrada said they were after a total collection of P18.8 million for 1,144 employees of 101 delinquent employers in all the 10 branches in Central Luzon 2. Six of these branches are in Bulacan, in the cities of Malolos, Meycauayan, Baliwag and San Jose del Monte and the towns of Sta. Maria and Bocaue; three in Pampanga; and one in Olongapo City.
Chelin Lea Nabong, SSS Malolos Acting Head, said their agency was collecting P2.5 million in principal amount from the school, portion of which incurred since 2011 and during the pandemic; and another P1.85 million from cleaning service companies.
