SWS: Marcos net satisfaction rating at -15, lowest ever

President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating has slumped to a “poor” -15 in the first quarter of 2026, his lowest record since the start of his administration in 2022, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll.

The survey, conducted from March 24 to March 31,  showed that 33 percent of adult Filipinos were “satisfied” with Marcos’ performance, a decline from the 40 percent in November 2025. Meanwhile, 49 percent were “dissatisfied,” an increase from the 43 percent in November. Those who were “undecided” hardly moved to 18 percent from 17 percent.

The net satisfaction of Marcos was 12 points down from his “neutral” -3 net satisfaction rating in November 2025.

The latest SWS figures resulted in a net satisfaction rating of “poor” -15, surpassing Marcos’ previous personal record-low of “poor” -12 that he obtained in March 2025.

‘Excellent’ to ‘execrable’

According to the SWS classification, the grade “excellent” is applied to net satisfaction scores of +70 and above; “very good” for +50 to +69; “good” for +30 to +49; “moderate” for +10 to +29; “neutral” for +9 to -9; “poor” for -10 to -29; “bad” for -30 to -49; “very bad” for -50 to -69; and “execrable” for -70 and below.

Marcos’ satisfaction rating declined in all geographic areas. Satisfaction among respondents was lowest and dissatisfaction at highest in Mindanao, the political base of his political archcritic, Vice President Sara Duterte.

Compared to November 2025, Marcos’ net satisfaction declined to “bad” -40 from “poor” -29 in Mindanao, to “bad” -31 from “poor” -17 in Metro Manila, and to “poor” -15 from “neutral” +2 in the Visayas. In Luzon outside of Manila, his net satisfaction was recorded as “neutral” +2 from “moderate” +13.

The survey was conducted among 1,500 adults using face-to-face interviews.

It had a sampling margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percent for national percentages; plus-or-minus 4 percent for Luzon outside Manila; and plus-or-minus 6 percent each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
