SWS survey: Pinoys ‘very happy’ with love life remain at all-time low
Filipinos who say they are “very happy” with their love life remained at a record-low level, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Wednesday.
The survey conducted from Nov. 24 to Nov. 30 last year found that 46 percent of adult Filipinos said they were “very happy” with their love life. This figure was unchanged from 2024 and marked the lowest level recorded in more than 20 years since the measure was first tallied in 2004.
The survey results also showed that 40 percent of respondents said they “could be happier” with their love life, up by 4 percentage points from 36 percent. On the other hand, 14 percent said they have “no love life,” down by 4 percentage points from 18 percent in 2024.
The November survey found that among women, happiness with love life was highest among those who were married at 57 percent, up slightly by 3 percentage points from 54 percent in 2024. It was followed by those with live-in partners at 45 percent (down 8 percentage points from 53 percent) and those with no spouse or partner at 22 percent (down two percentage points from 24 percent).
Wedded bliss
Among men, happiness with love life was highest among those who were married at 55 percent, (down six percentage points from 61 percent), followed by those with live-in partners at 50 percent (hardly changed from 49 percent) and those with no spouse or partner at 28 percent (up nine percentage points from 19 percent).
The SWS survey used face-to-face interviews among 1,200 adults. It had a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percent for national percentages and plus-or-minus 6 percent each for Metro Manila, Luzon outside Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao.
