Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair George Erwin Garcia said on Tuesday the poll body would try to rule on the disqualification case filed against brothers Ben and Erwin Tulfo who are running for senator and three other relatives for allegedly violating the constitutional ban on political dynasties before May 12.
“Our commitment is that all pending cases, if there are any left, will be decided by us before Election Day,” Garcia said in an interview over radio station dwPM.
He later told reporters that the case would be handled by the Comelec First Division chaired by Commissioner Aimee Ferolino-Ampoloquio, with Commissioners Ernesto Ferdinand Maceda Jr. and Norina Tangaro-Casingal as members.
