Comments on “A discomforting realization about democracy,” (The Long View by Manuel L. Quezon III, 11/29/23) via www.inquirer.net:
Democratic country is not an ideal government, especially in developing countries. Developing countries with a democratic type of government involve high crimes, crimes are a threat to anyone. Underdeveloped democratic country ang dami wala alam less informed na kung magsama-sama they become a force of reckoning.
No wonder Vietnam is already getting ahead.

Before considering if democracy is good or not for the Philippines we should ask ourselves if we really have ever been a democracy in the first place because having elections is not the only reason a country can be called a democracy. We at best are merely a faux democracy.
