Talk of the Town: A world without fossil fuels?
December 6, 2023
Comment on “A world without fossil fuels?” (Gray Matters by Michael L. Tan, 12/05/23) via www.inquirer.net:
It is too bad, coal and mineral oil is labeled “fossil fuel.” More than 20 percent of fossil fuel is not burned to generate power but as feedstock to produce various materials in the modern world from fertilizers, medicines, clothes or fibers, plastic for solar panels and windmills, etc. The “etc.” could be a very long list. Just take a look around you.
Without crude oil and even back to coal production, there will be mass starvation, malnutrition, and the breakdown of our civilization. What is renewable energy depends on the time perspective.
