Wind and solar energy while renewable is highly intermittent and would require large energy storage and sophisticated management of the grid. If the two-hour supply imbalance in Panay Island was a disaster, the reaction time when solar and wind power go above 30 percent would be much shorter. We have to plan and build now otherwise we will have a bigger and more frequent disaster.
