27 long years. It was not a matter of choice. I wouldn’t have worked abroad if there was the BPO then. Regret?

Yes, you can’t quantify the loss of time with your loved ones … I don’t think the diaspora will end soon.

The government will do something the day OFWs stop to remit. 3.1% unemployment is very low. But here a job isn’t enough to feed, dress, lodge, educate, and pay for health care.

Dave AngWhile there is an unemployment problem in the Philippines, the EU or foreign demand for skilled Filipino workers is not entirely illustrative of the problem. Filipinos aside from being skillful have found travelling and higher pay totally appealing. By this time professionals and the skilled workers going out to see the world and being able to provide for the needs of the family have become very attractive.
