This is why a lot of people are having a hard time setting up a business here in the Philippines when you’ve got both the BIR, Customs and the government doing legal extortion to fund their coffers.

Most MSME business owners would rather stay silent when pressed to settle the tax due. They would rather pay the smaller amount under the table than pay the actual tax due. RDOs and other tax collectors have been doing this operandi for many years and no big fish has been imprisoned.

What do you expect from them? Even the honorable in both Houses and the executive department are engaging in billions of corruption in broad daylight. And they don’t flinch even being exposed in the public. And what’s very sad is that these same people are always in front seat when going to church! Just imagine how crooked have we become.

And nothing will happen if these people, politicians, govt workers, are not convicted and stripped off their ill-gotten wealth, be it money, luxury cars, land, houses, condos, or whatsoever.
