Comments on “A sellout of our sovereign rights,” (Flea Market of Ideas by Joel Ruiz Butuyan, 4/18/24) via www.inquirer.net:

Duterte and his allies argue that maintaining the status quo with China prevents an unwinnable war.

They present two options: surrender o China or risk conflict. However, our track record proves otherwise.

We’ve maintained strategic outposts, won international arbitration against China, secured military support from allies, and sustained fishing activities in ourexclusive economic zone—all without resorting to war. Our nation’s fate isn’t limited to surrender or conflict.
