Talk of the Town: A sordid, spurious deal
Comments on “A sordid, spurious deal,” (Editorial, 4/5/24) via www.inquirer.net:
Ungentlemanly agreement! We can only surmise that Duterte cashed in on that surreptitious agreement with the mighty, oppressive, and wealthy dragon for a price. Why was it so secret? Why was theSenate which has the sole power to concur agreements and treaties with foreign governments not even informed?

Gentlemen agreement? Not only that, the previous inutil administration sold WPS to China. Bayani LazirDuterte dissed the arbitral ruling and called it “a piece of paper to be thrown away” because it was too much for him to acknowledge an achievement somebody else made. Recognizing it would be contrary to his nature. BanquoUnfortunately, even if their number one protector no longer occupies the highest office of the land, his sycophants are plenty and actively seeking similar activities. The enemy is no longer just at the gate, it’s already in the country. They are the Chinese Pogo “workers”, the various Chinese vessels at Manila Bay and other areas (doing what-not), the paid “Filipino” trolls/vloggers/”analysts”/“lawyers”/etc, politicians + sycophants.
