Talk of the Town: Alarming shortage of pharmacists

Comments on “Alarming shortage of pharmacists,” (Editorial, 3/19/25) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

We seems to have a shortage of just about everything we need except corrupt politicians. Only one less so far, thanks to ICC, but more coming soon!

Romy S. Aquino

For lack of opportunities for pharmacists to work with the government, Mercury Drugs Store is extremely happy to hire pharmacists as front sales attendants for P25,000 per month, which is near the minimum wage mandated by the government, working 8 hours per day 6 days a week. The salary for working like a dog standing the whole day is almost the same or lower than security guards or janitors in multinational companies.
