Grades are not meaningless, but they are severely inadequate as they are a function only of intelligence quotient (IQ) and not of emotional, social, and adversity quotients.

As the PISA score suffered, its impact indirectly confirmed by the country’s unresolved poverty, UP incredibly is producing 10 times more Summas. In economic inflation, money will lose value but with grade inflation, Latin honor will lose value in the job market because it does mot translate to excellence on the job. We as a nation will not gain anything from hemorrhaging in Summas.

Education has several purposes, and go beyond the joy of learning. Given that, grades are necessary, and the only way to deal with grade inflation is to have standardized exams.
