Self-rated poverty survey is more realistic because it asks respondents whether they are poor or not. It is based on their ”feelings” and how present conditions impact their daily struggles.

Calculate what you need to attain all basic needs plus have savings and insurance to deal with unexpected catastrophes. That’s the amount you need for a family of five to avoid poverty.
