Comments on “DepEd’s ‘legacy of unresolved issues’” (Editorial, 9/4/24) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

This happens when politicians, NOT EDUCATORS, run the Department of Education! Many lifelong, dedicated educators can efficiently run the DepEd, yet inexperienced politicians are appointed to run it. This is PATRONAGE POLITICS!

It’s mind boggling that even the basic operational activities such as payment of BIR taxes and GSIS contributions have been neglected under the term of VP Sara Duterte! She has really shown a high level of INCOMPETENCE and is not fit for running in any high government position!

The country is facing a problem with its education department for unresolved departmental issues and may take long to smoothen it out. But the biggest irony is that the department likewise faces a bigger problem—how it can raise the standard of learning when international assessment has ranked the country as below other Asian countries in reading, math, and science.
