Comment on “Don’t blame teachers for PH’s low ranking,” (Commentary, 10/14/24) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

Not one sector is to blame. Everyone shares the blame. I blame the culture. There should be a culture of curiosity and willingness to learn. Instead, we reward song and dance, and inane TV antics. We even elect the song and dance people to the highest positions. That needs to change. Song and dance have their place in this world, in some respect, they’re even important parts of our lives, but no country has become great because it has good singers, actors, and dancers. They’re great because of great inventors, scientists, warriors, social reformers, engineers, and yes, teachers.
