Talk of the Town: Fulfilling Quezon’s vow
Comments on “Fulfilling Quezon’s vow,” (Editorial, 6/12/26) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:
Why didn’t Filipinos prosecute their own fellow citizens? Why were legislators allowed to issue certificates instead of receipts across many administrations? And hasn’t that “failed governance” been in place for almost a century?

In East Asia, Filipinos suffer from high taxes and cost of goods, low income, low test scores on international tests, and corruption. Essentially, close to a failed state after the so called “independence.”

Congratulations, a huge lot of Filipinos will benefit in reading your piece. Regarding Aguinaldo and Quezon’s views on “running” the country, Quezon’s may be a tad inferior considering the current Senate crisis but in the long run, we are moving or inching toward better government performance, achieving greater accountability, and more elected leaders being identified with moral compass and integrity. With the US’ path now deviating on its original ideals of freedom for all, I am thankful Quezon made the right choice!
