The corruption scandal of VP Sara Duterte and other issues linking her other siblings, plus the issue of the father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and the ICC effectively creates a dark cloud on the the clan’s recovery to political prominence in the Philippines.

I think Uniteam was formed only to encourage each candidate’s supporters to vote for the other, and thus avoid a three-way race. And it’s unlikely that that “genuine opposition” can provide “an alternative bastion of hope and leadership” as it comes from a political machinery that kept promising that for four decades.
