Talk of the Town: ICC probe – A subtle, monumental shift

The Philippines is bound to soften up its stance. Bottom line is, this country isn’t in any position to play hardball. The Philippines is currently in need of cooperation by the major international countries.

What changed was the ICC publicly informed the Philippines they would use Interpol to pursue the suspects. The Philippines as a member state of Interpol has an obligation to cooperate. Or does the Philippines want to also thumb their noses at Interpol? I wonder if during the initial discussion inside the administration anyone asked, “What will the ICC do in order to pursue this case?” Or did they all just pump their chests and say we will show the ICC who the boss is? All this while the Philippines is banking solely on “International” law to build support against Chinese aggression in the seas. Although hypocrisy is normal in international relations.

Duterte couldn’t blame anybody for the sudden change of government’s policy on ICC probe but himself. Everything that is happening now is because of his own doing. Years back PBBM had stated that the country will not cooperate with ICC and why the sudden change or shift? Digong started the stabilization campaign staging prayer rallies criticizing PBBM and even publicly insulting the president. Another thing that irritates PBBM is that he is hiding Quiboloy. Remember Digong admitted that he knows where Quiboloy is but will not tell authorities where to find him.
