COA’s work may look dull, but that “dullness” is exactly what keeps public money from being treated like personal cash. While politicians spin narratives, auditors quietly follow the receipts—and the receipts in the VP’s impeachment trial are brutal. An “unmodified opinion” isn’t a clearance; it’s just COA saying the documents were formatted correctly, not that the spending was clean. Using it as a political shield is deliberately misleading.
