Comments on “Lasting solutions for oil volatility,” (Editorial, 3/11/26) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

Norway is the only country in the best position to remain unaffected by oil shocks. It is not because it is a massive oil producer, or superrich, but because it has successfully transitioned to all electric vehicles and infrastructure not primarily to save oil but also for clean environment. Norway is a country with a lot of foresight!

Oil will run out in the future, it’s not an infinite resource! We should start the transition now to renewables, effectively saving the planet from the climate crisis. There is a definite economic advantage besides lower energy costs: Creation of high-paying local jobs through local manufacturing and services. It would be to our benefit to learn from Spain and Germany, among other countries, on their energy transition.
