The Philippines has been following a neoliberal approach coupled with structural adjustment since the 1980s. That’s why it has had de-industrialization since.

Unless we rid our nation of corruption and red tape, improve our infrastructure, including basic utilities, and upgrade our educational institutions and worker skills, we cannot have a viable and competitive manufacturing base.
