Talk of the Town: Quixotic chances of anti-dynasty petitions

Comments on “Quixotic chances of anti-dynasty petitions,” (With Due Respect by Artemio V. Panganiban, 4/14/25) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:
The column’s title suggests anti-dynasty petitions have “quixotic chances.” That is, according to Oxford, “they are too idealistic but unrealistic and impractical,” perhaps, no possibilities of success, like Don Quixote’s dreams?

The phrase “political dynasty” is indeed a common sense word and its essence does not need deciphering and anatomizing. It’s just a verbalization of a simple concept such that the spirit of this provision need no further enabling and explaining. It’s about time the SC considers the “spirit of the law” rather than romanticize it.

By this time, congress should be just amending or revising a law on anti dynasty. defining what a dynasty is shouldn’t take a lifetime.
