Talk of the Town: Rizal’s unhappy wife

Comment on “Rizal’s unhappy wife,” (Looking Back by Ambeth R. Ocampo, 11/20/24) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

Rizal saved the best for last. His parting words say it all, “Farewell sweet foreigner—my darling, my delight!” He must have been a happy man—with a happier wife. She may have been disappointed by not getting her share of inheritance, but what mattered was the happy relationship while it lasted. Always look at the bright side, the good memories 🙂
