Talk of the Town: Seize momentum to curb text scams
Comments on “Seize momentum to curb text scams,” (Editorial, 8/7/24) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:
The comments of the senators just highlight the low level of grey cells. A text msg can be sent via apps or web based services none of which requires a SIM. A VPN hides the IP address. SIM registration was a waste of money and just an excuse to hide the fact that the senator behind it was clueless. It would have been better to educate the public.

NTC should provide a cell number where to report text scams. So far they are not doing it.

In short, the government spent millions to ensure that all mobile phone owners register sim card. Then these data will then be sold to POGO companies so that we can be scammed?!
