Talk of the Town: Staggering absurdity

For me, it is a great delight to witness in real time how the members of the present Senate majority have become loose cannons. Again, we shall soon see that indeed “those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.” Although, it is quite clear that Imee and Pia are already ahead of the rest of the pack.

The Cayetano-led Senate feels like a never-ending string of unfortunate events. It’s tough to tell whether to laugh at their clownish behavior or cry over the decline of what was once a respected body of lawmakers. Driven by arrogance and hunger for power, they will never accomplish anything during their sessions.

Maybe the country needs something like France 1789, but without a Napoleon later.
