Civil society can also take advantage of the powerless, which is why, as the Inquirer reported using WB data, the Philippine economy barely grew across decades. Meanwhile, of all groups, it was foreign banks and chambers of commerce which pointed out that the country started reforming economically only during the Duterte administration.

I hope that Mr. David’s powerless resentment can be translated into an election vote this May. To demonstrate how the animosity we have felt for so long can be transformed into good governance, transparency, and corrupt-free government.

We need to make radical leaders that will go beyond serving and providing people basic needs. Beyond is by exacting accountability to self-serving government officials and rent seeking businessmen.
