Comments on “Unbearable long queues at Naia immigration,” (Letter to the Editor, 10/07/24) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:

Instead of handing the airport over to a foreign company with experience running airports where a riot would break out over this level of incompetence, we trust the same old corrupt oligarchs. They promise improvements but will just charge us inflated prices for services that feel like a slow-motion disaster. Why does the Philippines continue to fail? It’s simple: we keep voting for incompetence and rewarding failure. Standing in line isn’t a national pastime! It’s time we said, “Enough is enough!” Let’s demand real change! We deserve airports that function, not ones where we feel like we’re participating in an endurance test. We need practical solutions, like increasing immigration officers during peak hours and investing in technology that actually works! Shortening the time it takes to process documents at Naia could be the cherry on top that attracts travelers back to the Philippines. Until then, let’s keep our sense of humor as we stand in line—after all, laughter is the only thing moving faster than the queues!
