Talk of the Town: Why we must fear Trump’s tariffs

Comments on “Why we must fear Trump’s tariffs,” (Editorial, 4/7/25) via https://opinion.inquirer.net:
The problem seems to be whether the tariff rates computation made by the Trump administration is correct and accurate or not. But assuming the computations are correct, if China is indeed imposing 67% on its imports from the US, why is it wrong that the US now imposes a reciprocal 34% (still lower by 33 points) on its imports from China? The same goes with other countries, including the Philippines.

Tariff is an eye opener to the Filipino people but let us embrace and utilize the same for our own advantage, it is a blessing that PH is basically self sufficient, we have our natural and human resources enough to sustain our own economy.
