The University of the Philippines Red Cross Youth had conducted its 4th fun run, entitled “Blood Line: The UP Red Cross Youth Fun Run”, at the UP Diliman Academic Oval last June 30, 2024.

The event gathered 500 participants, raising 100,000 for Hemophilia Advocates-Philippines.

UP RCY is a non-profit organization serving the UP community by means of blood programs and first aid services, and performing relevant community development projects in health missions, information drives, and outreach programs.

The fun run shows the commitment of UP RCY to voluntary service and creating awareness on blood donation.

The funds raised from the fun run significantly aid people suffering from hemophilia and other related bleeding disorders. With hospitals and chapters of HAP across the nation.

Hemophilia patients still lack access to affordable treatment and comprehensive care. Only 50-60% of families of hemophiliacs are below the poverty level of 14.000 per month in income and cannot afford to travel to the major cities for treatment or cover the high costs of care.

By holding the fun run, UP RCY has not only been able to raise much-needed funds but also clearly demonstrated high regard for the hemophilia community and other bleeding disorders.

The event serves its purpose in consonance with the mission of the organization: to serve and create meaningful impact to the community.
