A cozy cabin Christmas
A chilly evening, some fluffy pillows, thick blankets, and loving hugs from the family—Christmas is arguably the sweetest time of the year.
This heartwarming scene can only be elevated by the presence of winter-inspired garlands and a rustic log cabin home.
If you are fortunate enough to be spending Christmas in a log cabin this year, go all out and make your home a true winter wonderland. Whether you are living in a ground-up house or a multi-story apartment building, there’s always a way you can achieve that cozy cabin feel with the right decoration.
Here are some tips on how to achieve that Christmas cozy bliss in your home.
Go white on your fabrics
Great for holidays and regular days, white sheets are simply a classic must-have in your home. From imported wool to local Inabel cloth, there is a variety of fabrics you can use. These soft and light fabrics evoke images of a snow-laden field right inside your home, bringing a touch of elegant simplicity.

Decorate with scents
Capture the magic of Christmas by captivating your nose. Invest in room sprays or candles featuring holiday scents such as Gingerbread cookies, pinecones, and apple cinnamon.
Better yet, buy natural pinecones from your favorite online app and fill your home with a refreshing, earthy aroma that lasts throughout the season. Just make sure to put a container or a piece of cloth right under your cluster of pinecones. These natural pieces of decor shed pieces and may require regular cleaning.

Opt for plaid fabrics
If a white wonderland is not your thing, you can still go the classic route by opting for red and green plaid fabrics. Whether seen on the small ribbons on tree baubles or the large mantel on the dining table, these will definitely bring some holiday cheer into your home.
If you are the adventurous kind, you can mix and match different plaid patterns especially when it comes to throw pillows on your sofas and daybeds. Just make sure that you limit the use of varying patterns so as not to overwhelm your guests.
Hang some wreaths
Less expensive than the traditional parol, this green garland brings the freshness of the outdoors into your holiday home. You can go the budget route and buy artificial wreaths that are often coupled with Christmas lights and decorations.
If you can spare a little more money though, natural, handmade wreaths are worth considering. They bring in beautiful scents of berries and leaves. With their freshness often lasting up to two weeks, you can retain them at home even when they dry up as their colors are pretty much retained.
If you opt for less colorful versions of these, such as eucalyptus wreaths or white floral wreaths, you can even reuse these after the holiday season has ended.

Get a Christmas tree
Perhaps the most widely used Yuletide decoration across the world, a Christmas tree is the best way to breathe some holiday spirit into your home. Natural is still the best way to go, with fresh trees bringing in a whiff of pine scent into your home.
The most practical and easily available route in the Philippines, however, is to go the artificial way. By choosing to buy a ready-made Christmas tree from the store, you can choose your preferred height, color and shape. If your home cannot accommodate a life-sized tree, you can even just buy a couple of miniature versions and spread them out throughout the house. Paired with some pinecones and some fairy lights, they will surely brighten up your interiors with some festive cheer.

Remember what truly matters
Amid all the holiday rush and revelry, remember to take a breather and enjoy your moments with loved ones. Bask in Yuletide bliss by indulging in cozy cabin decor, whether you live in a gorgeous chalet or a cute condominium.
Let your imagination take the reins and have a merry time decorating this Christmas season!
