Building for generations

“This is not just another project for us. The Grand Midori Ortigas stands as a testament to our mission to build dynamic developments for generations to enjoy. For over 53 years, Federal Land has dedicated itself to creating projects that contribute to nation-building through thoughtful, future-forward designs that add value to the community and enable people to lead balanced, fulfilling lives,” Ty said.

He described the two-tower development as a modern Zen-inspired sanctuary in the middle of one of Metro Manila’s busiest districts.

Designed in partnership with Japan’s Tange Associates, this residential high rise embodies the Japanese philosophy of harmony and precision, thus providing a calm, well-balanced home amid the bustle of Ortigas.

A serene escape

Located along Exchange Road corner Jade Drive, The Grand Midori Ortigas takes inspiration from the Japanese philosophies of wabi-sabi, an appreciation for simplicity and imperfection, and miyabi, the pursuit of quiet elegance. These design approaches are reflected in every detail, from the clean lines and soft tones to the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The tower’s distinctive weave facade meanwhile takes inspiration from the Japanese tatami and the Filipino banig, expressed through the horizontal and vertical louvers that serve as sunshades and natural ventilation elements. This thoughtful blend of two influences highlights the shared values of both cultures–craftsmanship, harmony with nature, and a deep respect for space and form–resulting in architecture that is refined yet grounded, elegant yet purposeful.

Inside, the layouts have been planned to feel open yet intimate. Each unit was designed with a sense of order and comfort, promoting ease and well-being amid the urban pace.

Built to endure, to last

Beyond its refined design however, The Grand Midori Ortigas was also built to ensure safety and stability.

According to Ar. Raymund Quimson, Senior Design head of Federal Land’s Urban Planning and Design Group, the project was carefully engineered to stand firm against time and nature.

“We check all the historic data of past earthquakes within the actual site itself, whether 50 or 100 years back. Then we design based on that data. So even if an earthquake as strong as magnitude 8 strikes–hopefully not–it can withstand it. This building is very safe,” he explained.

To achieve this level of resilience, Federal Land worked with Sy² Associates Inc., one of the country’s most respected structural engineering firms known for its innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Shaping the skyline of Pasig

For his part, the city mayor also expressed his appreciation for The Grand Midori Ortigas.

“We’re very happy to have this new tower here in Ortigas Center,” said Sotto. “After a quick tour, I can say we’re impressed with this development and we can see that there is a great new life for the Pasigueños [and those] who [will] become future residents here in the city.”

Indeed, with its Japanese-inspired elegance, spacious yet thoughtfully planned interiors, and resilient engineering, The Grand Midori Ortigas sets a new benchmark for urban living in Pasig City. It’s a space that residents can experience, enjoy, and proudly call home.
