A sparkling season shines at MITSUKOSHI BGC

MITSUKOSHI BGC welcomes the festive season with “Doraemon: A Sparkling Adventure,” running from November 1 to January 12 next year. Now decked with Japanese-inspired decorations, guests can expect fun family activities and plenty of Doraemon magic for visitors of all ages.

At the entrance, Mitsuko, the mall’s signature Kokeshi doll, has been dressed in her holiday best. Inside, Doraemon-themed details add a playful charm throughout the mall, creating countless photo-worthy spots for shoppers and fans alike.

Doraemon and friends brought extra cheer to the Christmas Tree Lighting at MITSUKOSHI BGC! Their costumes were specially flown in from Japan.

A sparkling holiday

The celebration officially began with “A Sparkling Holiday: Christmas Lighting Celebration” held on November 4, featuring a Christmas chorale and the holiday debut of Mitsuko alongside Doraemon and friends.

Festivities continue on November 8 and 9, December 6 to 8, and December 13 and 14, featuring meet-and-greet sessions with Doraemon and his gang at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Santa Claus will also make his appearances on December 20, 21, and 25.

Adding to the excitement, a series of Japanese-inspired performances will fill the mall with lively music and color. The lineup includes the LIV Dance Academy on November 8, Dream Girls & Boys on November 16, and a Taiko drumming performance by the Manila Japanese School on November 23. All these performances will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Also in attendance were Hiroshi Kondo and Horan Kondo, directors and owners of Animation International Ltd., Doraemon’s main licensing agency, who flew in from Hong Kong for the ceremonial lighting.

Shopping delights

Beyond the festivities, holiday cheer also extends to shopping and dining.

MITSUKOSHI FRESH introduces Christmas Hampers filled with artisanal confectioneries, fine teas, wines, and premium delicacies—perfect for thoughtful gifting, especially with elegant Japanese-style wrapping available starting November 25. By mid-December, premium Japanese strawberries, or Ichigo, will also be up for purchase.

The large Doraemon inflatable installation outside the mall was specially flown in from Japan — a first for MITSUKOSHI BGC’s holiday celebration.

New stores

The excitement continues with new store openings this season.

Ipponyari, a well-loved Japanese restaurant from Southern Luzon, opens its first branch in Bonifacio Global City this November. Meanwhile, ABC MART, a popular Japanese footwear and lifestyle brand, is extending its presence in the Philippines with a new store opening in mid-December.

Pop-up shops from Phiten, Kizik, Splingle Move, Gingersnaps, and Theo & Philo will also bring festive finds throughout MITSUKOSHI.
