A weekend of homes, dreams, and good deals with Filinvest Land

Many just took that big leap into homeownership last weekend, thanks to Filinvest Land Inc.’s “It Feels Right Home Discovery Caravan.”

At the event, held at Festival Mall in Alabang from Oct. 11 to 12, talks, exhibits and discounts got people feeling it was the right time to invest in a home—and not just any home, a home by Filinvest.

The seasoned developer proudly presented its diverse portfolio of house-and-lot, and condominium products in Metro Manila and the Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal (Calabar) corridor.

Making those new homes even more enticing were exclusive promos, like premium discounts, low down payments and flexible payment terms.

Making informed decisions

Selling wasn’t Filinvest’s only motivation to organize the caravan, though. It also wanted to help prospective homebuyers, including celebrities and media personalities, make an informed decision about such a life-defining moment.

Actor Cedrick Juan, who people might know for his award-winning performance as Jose Burgos in movie, “Gomburza,” sat with wife Kate in panel discussion, “Choosing the Right Home for Your Family.”

The newlyweds—and new parents—wanted to live independently, and needed pointers on choosing a home fitting their needs as young career people and members of a growing family.

Carl Dy, real estate investment expert and president of property portfolio management company Spectrum Investments, offered advice, right after taking the stage for his talk, “Satisfying the Needs of Growing Families.”

“In my talk, I said, even if the place is small, as long as I can call it home, we are safe, it is restful, that’s my home,” Dy told the Juans.

He had, in his speech, asked the audience to check their finances based on five criteria: that they had excess monthly cash flow; emergency funds that could get them through three to six months; little to no bad debt; a secure income source; and enough money to afford monthly payments.

Weighing the pros and cons

Comedian, content creator, and digital strategist Baus Rufo, who you might know from the “Dog Show Divas” podcast also sat down for a panel discussion about an equally relatable dilemma, “To rent or not to rent?”

In a session titled, “Rent or Own? The Smart Buyer’s Guide to Acquiring a Home,” Andoy Beltran weighed the pros and cons with him.

Beltran is the vice president of First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp.; an entrepreneur, real estate investor, stock broker, financial literacy advocate and investment educator. He also held a talk, “Building Wealth for Your First Home.”

Filinvest organized the caravan not only to sell but also to help prospective homebuyers make informed decisions about such a life-defining moment.

‘Instahomes’

Among its booths, Filinvest actually offered ways to help ease the troubles of the Juans, Rufo and so many other hardworking Filipinos.

The Filinvest “InstaHomes” promo offers ready-for-occupancy units beginning at P3.5 million, with limited-time discounts of up to 35 percent. The “Rent it. Own it. Easy.” program is a path to ownership that entails as low as P40,000 per month. It also comes with zero interest, fixed rent for 10 years and easy move-in.

Aside from property investment, the caravan tackled interior design and styling—one other way Filinvest enticed people into buying a home.
