Ayala Land’s Avida Makes Its Employee’s “Dream Home” a Reality
Avida Land is closing its 35th anniversary year by turning one employee’s dream home into reality. Jessa May Mallari, who has been with Avida for five years and owns a junior one-bedroom unit at Avida Towers Makati Southpoint, received a complete interior design and fit-out package for her home, designed by Gerold Ebdane of Studio Ploy.
The gesture reflects a milestone not only for Jessa but also for the company she has helped build. From a team of around 60 employees to nearly 600 today, Avida has grown over the years while remaining focused on helping Filipino families achieve the dream of homeownership. As the brand celebrates 35 years, it chose to recognize one of the people behind that journey by creating a home she can truly call her own.
“Thirty-five years in, our purpose hasn’t changed: helping Filipino families have a home they can be proud of.” — Raquel Cruz, Ayala Land Residential Business Group Chief Operations Officer.
Five years after joining Avida, Jessa is stepping into a new chapter of life. Recently engaged and preparing for marriage, she finds herself at the point where the dream of having a home is no longer a distant aspiration but an important part of the future she is actively building.

Why Studio Ploy
Avida sought a design partner that could bring together a distinctive aesthetic, a thoughtful understanding of how people live, and the ability to make every square meter count. Studio Ploy’s approach is aligned with these priorities.
Led by Gerold Ebdane, Studio Ploy begins each project by understanding the homeowner’s wish list, daily routines, personality, and stage of life. This approach allows the design to go beyond aesthetics, creating spaces that reflect how people actually live. Studio Ploy has also built a following of thousands who appreciate not only its design projects but also the thought and intention behind each design decision, a connection with its audience that reflects the trust Avida has nurtured with homebuyers over the past 35 years.

Over several months, Jessa worked closely with Studio Ploy, from the initial consultation to the fit-out and installation. The result is a home designed around her needs, with a considered layout that makes the most of its space and natural light. The unit also features Avida’s ClimAdapt elements, including Low Solar Heat Gain Glass windows that bring natural light into Jessa’s bedroom while helping keep the room cool and comfortable.
For young professionals and starting families, a well-designed condominium such as Jessa’s can offer a practical way to live closer to work, everyday essentials, and the opportunities of the city. At Avida Towers Makati Southpoint, proximity to the Makati Central Business District is complemented by the potential of a thoughtfully planned home. Jessa’s transformed unit demonstrates how considered design can make a right-sized space feel functional, comfortable, and deeply personal.

A Well-Designed Home
Studio Ploy maximized the unit’s 23.30 square meters without sacrificing comfort. Guided by a soft minimalist-luxe aesthetic, the living and dining areas feel cohesive and spacious, with carefully selected, space-saving furniture. A French sliding divider separates the home office from the bedroom while its open upper section allows air to circulate. Modular kitchen, wardrobe, and vanity units provide discreet storage, while a coffee nook, one of Jessa’s requests, adds a personal touch.
A palette of layered whites, complemented by sleek black accents and a satin finish, gives the interior a soft, contemporary feel. Layered lighting, including a leaf-inspired pendant, adds warmth and character. Custom artwork by Studio Ploy personalizes the space, with an entrance piece inspired by Avida’s 35th anniversary logo and a bedroom artwork drawing from Jessa’s trip to Japan with her fiancé. As a final touch, Avida also gifted Jessa an espresso machine.

As Avida closes its 35th anniversary year and enters its 36th on October 30, 2026, Jessa’s home transformation serves as a reminder that the company’s purpose is ultimately realized in the lives people build within the homes they choose.
“A few years ago, this was a ‘someday’ for Jessa. Now she gets to start her next chapter here. That’s what we hope for every Avida home: a place where someone starts something new, makes memories, and builds a life.” – Cruz added. “This is Avida, and this is how we celebrate life.”

Jessa’s story reflects a mission that extends beyond a single home. Through Avida, Ayala Land continues to help more Filipinos move closer to their aspirations by providing quality homes designed for real life and long-term value. By creating accessible pathways to homeownership and building communities where people can grow, Ayala Land enables more individuals and families to turn the dream of owning a home into a reality of their own.
