Citihomes advances ‘eco-first’ living at Paseo De Lipa

Citihomes Builder and Development Inc. (CBDI) held last month the blessing of Paseo De Lipa’s East Entry Plaza and model homes, marking a significant milestone for its sustainable township in Lipa City, Batangas.
The ceremony was led by CBDI executive vice president John Philip Wang, who was joined by company officials, partners, and brokers, among other guests.
“We knew that we wanted to build very good homes and communities. It’s part of our company’s mission to build great homes… that our buyers will be happy to buy, happy to pay for,” said Wang in his speech.
He added that the plaza and the two eco-conscious model homes, Levana and Larissa, they presented “reflect the values we’re building into every square meter of this development–innovation, livability, and environmental stewardship.”

‘Ecossentials’
The two house models that were introduced, in particular, showcase green architecture principles, or what CBDI calls as “ecossentials”.
One of these “next generation” features includes having all houses in Paseo De Lipa solar power-ready, according to Wang. Every home will also be equipped with a rainwater harvesting tank. Besides being able to use the collected rainwater for flushing toilets or watering gardens, the tanks can also serve as the first line of defense against flooding in Paseo De Lipa.

Sustainable alternative
Surprisingly, but not entirely unexpected, no natural wood was used in the homes.
Instead, CBDI opted for conwood, which is a sustainable alternative to lumber sourced from Siam Cement Group in Thailand. Conwood mimics the look and feel of real wood but is significantly more durable and resistant to termite damage.
Even the windows are thoughtfully designed to enhance ventilation while incorporating screens to protect residents from mosquitoes and other insects. Additionally, the kitchen cabinets are made more spacious for residents’ convenience and are constructed from aluminum, a more eco-friendly choice with a lower carbon footprint.
These offerings clearly demonstrate that sustainable living is not only possible but also practical, especially with the right developer, like CBDI.

Beauty and purpose
Meanwhile, the newly opened East Entry Plaza adds beauty and purpose to the community.
Designed with native plants, shaded walkways, and solar-powered lighting, it creates a peaceful, eco-friendly space for residents to enjoy. The use of permeable surfaces helps manage rainwater and reduce heat, making the area more comfortable and sustainable.
More than just an entrance, the plaza offers a shared space where people can walk, unwind, and connect with nature—and with each other.
Paseo De Lipa’s blessing highlights its vision of a community where sustainability isn’t just a feature but rather a foundation. From green spaces and pedestrian-friendly streets to amenities designed for everyday well-being, every element is made to support a lifestyle that cares for both people and the environment.
